What Does Food and Writing Have In Common?

I ordered my favorite meal.

It looked and smelled delicious.

Then I had my first bite.

There was one major problem.

No salt!

This gave me flashbacks to most of the writing I see online.

Why is your writing not making an impact?

  1. It lacks value.
  2. It lacks clarity.
  3. It lacks authority.

But there is one important reason.

It lacks creativity.

Imagine your favorite meal without salt.

Bland.

Uninteresting.

It might be seasoned and spiced.

But salt ties all the other flavors together.

Creativity is the salt of your writing.

How do you get creative with your writing?

  1. Storytelling.
  2. Using your unique voice.
  3. Experimenting with different formats.

Storytelling is universal because life itself is a story.

Stories are most impactful because they are timeless.

Your personal story is your unique edge.

Nobody has lived the life you’ve lived.

And how do you find your voice?

It’s simple.

Write as you speak.

Experimenting with different formats breaks monotony.

A consistent theme I’ve noticed when teaching people how to write.

All they need is guidance.

I help them paint the world from their view.

When they know someone is rooting for them.

They let the words flow.

You are not a bad writer.

But you need to learn what works.

Talk to you soon.
